Word Bridge Scrabble is a modification of Scrabble that relieves the players of the burden of keeping score. Unlike conventional Scrabble, no points are awarded for letters or words. Instead, the goal is to construct a continuous path of tiles connecting the player’s side of the board to the opposite side of the board (a “word bridge”). In all other respects, the rules of Word Bridge Scrabble are the same as the rules of conventional Scrabble.

Word Bridge Scrabble can be played by two to four players or two teams of two players each. In the case of two players, the players sit at adjacent sides of the board and attempt to construct a word bridge connecting their side of the board to the opposite side of the board. With three or four players, the goal of each player is to construct a word bridge connecting the main mass of words to his (or her) side of the board. In the case of teams, the partners sit at opposite sides of the board and attempt to construct a word bridge connecting their sides of the board to each other. The first player or team to successfully construct their word bridge is the winner.

To play a solitaire version of Word Bridge Scrabble, play the game in the usual manner, the goal being to construct word bridges to all four sides of the board before running out of tiles to play.
